System Requirements

There are two flavors of MSN2Go available: the new version, which looks better and includes all the latest features but requires Java 1.4 or later, and the old, more compatible version, which is plainer looking and has fewer features but usually works out of the box on many systems.

I recommend that you follow these steps to determine which version to use:

  1. Try the new MSN2Go. If it loads, you're all set—stop reading and go use it!
  2. If the new MSN2Go won't load and you are able to install software on your computer, install the latest version of Java and try the new MSN2Go again.
  3. If you can't install Java on your computer, try the old MSN2Go.
